Guest catcurls
Hello My family are considering moving to Aus. However our priority is where we will stand with our 2yo's condition. He needs monthly app with a paediatric rheumy. where can i get info on this, location etc. Also we are in the NHS system but do we need private ins in Aus is it very expensive and do they cover existing illnesses etc. We can't even consider the move untill I know my son will get the same level of care. Dh is a shotfirer with over 10 yrs experience so hoping it will make job hunting a little easier. Anyway all advice greatly appreciated, thanks Cat
Petals
Each State is different so you will need to tell us where you are headed. We pay for our prescriptions in Australia and many doctors require a co payment for visits, as do specialists.
_shel
This would be something I'd be speaking to a specialist migration agent about. Having someone on the visa application with a disability or medical condition can hinder the visa application process and even lead to rejection if they deem the person would cost the australian government too much in health care, welfare, education etc. A registered migration agent who specialises in health concerns would be able to tell you the probability of rejection and help prepare an application to give a better chance of success.
