Guest tezza87
Hi all. I have a flight booked to brisbane on the 13th of november! I have been to dentist today and i need a operation to remove a tooth/cist. I am wondering if i am covered by the nhs in oz or if dental costs will be out the window. Any help would be much appreciated. Luke
Guest MM2Melb
There is no NHS for dentistry in OZ! Definitely go here before you leave if you can :-)
MARYROSE02
Do it in UK if it's on the NHS but don't do it too close to your flight in case you have a problem in the air? Aussie dentists are expensive but excellent. I don't know that they are any dearer than private Pommie dentists mind? I never had an NHS one when I was back there from 96-08. Andy & Kelly
I've just had root canal done on one tooth, $1800 total cost, that includes porcelain cap. Slightly expensive!
p182
Like others have said, definitely get it done on the NHS before you fly as it will be much cheaper. If your flight is for a holiday I'd take out some good travel insurance just in case. I had a crown done this morning and it cost $1,750. After checking this seems to be the going rate around here for a crown. This would have cost £204 on the NHS. Maybe I should try one of those dental holidays to Eastern Europe or Thailand next time
