Guest Foxx
Hey there PIO. Just a quick question concerning VISAs for a student looking to do a sandwich year in Australia. I'm studying mechanical engineering in Portsmouth, England. For my third year i'm looking at taking a year in practise for my degree over there (also known as an internship). One of my friends who is also thinking of taking a sandwich year abroad had recently said to me that it is extremely hard to do one in Australia due to the available VISAs and their rules. Apparently a working holiday visa requires that you do not work in the same business/company for more than 6 months. Is this true? Also, what are the best VISA options to take if you want to have an internship over in Australia? Thanks in advance guys! Appreciate the help as always! Adrian. RockDr
I would speak to an agent about this, but if you can find a company that agrees to take you on, I would be surprised if you are not able to get some form of one year temporary visa that specifies you can only work in that role.
