Guest stevieboy
Hi Everyone, First post on this site so I'll make it simple to start with.....:err: I'm being moved over to Melbourne on a 457 visa, which is only clearly valid for 4 years. As great as this is, I really need to understand how I turn that in to a permanent visa at a later date. I hoped I could work out my first 2 years with my new employer and then get them to sponsor me under the employer nomination scheme. The immigration website seems to suggest that would be possible but my job is not on the SOL so I'm not sure it would work for me. Other people are telling me that as long as I fulfill 'one' of the criterea (i.e. 2 years experience OR a job thats on the SOL) then that should be sufficient. Anyone know? Confused of Auckland p.s. I'm not a kiwi, I am a Pom so have to go out via this route before anyone asks
