Johndoe
Need help! Where do I go to get an Oz DL near Manly and will I need to test coming from the US. Which manly? If it's NSW you need to take a test if you're considered PR. Visitors can drive on their own licences for up to 3 months
Cerberus1
Hi If you've got a full US license, then you should be exempt from having to take the car knowledge & practical driving tests as the US is a 'recognised country' - http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/newtonsw/recognisedcountries.html
LKC
Have a look on this page from the RTA International Drivers. The US driving test is seen as being equivalent so I think that you can just do a straight swap see here Recognition of Licenses. I think that this is conditional on you holding a full car license and you will have to just have a quick eyesight test when you get the license done. See here for Motor Registries nearest to Manly.
