Hi

Is there anyone in Secret Harbour or looking at going there??

Deb x :jiggy:

Hi Deb,

We are in Port Kennedy which is about a 5 mins drive from Secret Harbour. We have friends who live there, they are from Newcastle and have built their own house, its lovely from what I have seen, it all seems pretty new and it is growing, they have recently opened up a shopping centre. It has a bakery, supermarket, bottleshop, newsagent, cafe, take-aways, its really nice. Is this where you are planning on settling?

Sorry Deb, I should have been more specific regarding location. It is prob 20 mins from both Rockingham and Mandurah by car, so you are bang in the middle. Both places are really good for shopping with department stores such as Big W, Target, Kmart, Woolworths ( Food only tho not like Woolies in the UK ) etc. The foreshores are beautiful, we have seen dolphins jumping in the bay at teatime, pelicans freely walking around. The parks are fab if you have young children, Mandurah has a small funfair, not been yet tho, and it has a magnificent harbour with loads of restaurants and food places, boat trips too,its lovely to spend the afternoon there and just chill out!

Hi Deb, we arrived home from Perth on saturday, we went on an orientation visit as my hubby has a job offer, we looked at suburbs close the city but then decided to look south and really liked Secret Harbour, we have two girls 7 and 5, we visited secret harbour school last week and were made to feel welcome. If all goes to plan I think we will move early Jan or earlier...but I think the demand for rentals is going to be high! Are you moving to SH? Nic x

Hi Nic

We left the UK in Dec 2007 and have never looked back. We lived in Secret Harbour until last year when we moved upto Karratha, we still have our house is Secret Harbour though which we rent out (just doing some work on it and it should be ready shortly) Who is you r husband working for? We put our two children in Comet Bay but moved them as we found they were falling behind with their schooling but I know a lot of people who have their kids there and are happy with the school and Secret Harbour school is supposed to be good :jiggy:

Where in the UK are you moving from? Any other questions I would be happy to answer if I can.

Speak soon

Hi Debs, we live in the south west of the UK, 30 mins from Bath, my Hubby has been offered a job with the company he currently works for Nexans, but it is Olex in Oz. He will home based but potentially travelling anywhere in Oz. We had heard the same about Comet Bay and our biggest priority is getting the girls settled in school, hence why we thought SH primary and we know a family with children that went there and one still goes there. However I dont want to offend anyone on here if there children go to Comet Bay as I read/hear so many different stories....as I have read good reviews on here too about comet bay,I understand they are building a new school in surf drive too. Our aim is to move, enjoy the beach, outdoor life, meet other families to socialise, relax and have bbq's with and our girls settle and meet new friends too... my head is spinning now, we are finalising details of the contract early next week, then hopefully start the ball rolling....woop woop!
