Guest The Pom Queen
I know for a WHV they ask for $5000 although people have made the move and never been asked for proof. This is what it says: You must have access to sufficient funds to support yourself for the initial stage of your holiday. Generally, AUD5000 may be regarded as sufficient, but the amount may vary depending on your length of stay and the extent of your travel. You should also have a return or onward ticket or the funds for a fare to depart Australia. You may be asked to provide evidence. Evidence may include a certified copy of a bank statement and an air ticket out of Australia. Or are you talking of the 676 visa, for this it states: You must have access to sufficient funds to cover all costs for the duration of your stay in Australia, including health/travel insurance if required. You may be asked to provide evidence of your funds. Examples: personal bank statements, pay slips, audited accounts, taxation records, credit card limit. As it's only for 6 months I wouldn't have thought they would be so strict as long as you have the funds for your return ticket home and for any medical emergencies.
