graham834
Hi Everyone, Just a quick question..... we have submitted our 176 PR visa on the 05/10 and are waiting to be allocated a CO and to be instructed to get our medicals done. I've just started to worry about whether having psoriasis will have an effect on passing the medicals?? If anyone has any experience of this please let us know..... Many thanks, Amanda & Arthur

Many thanks, Amanda & Arthur I don't think it will affect it that much. I had my medical and have psoriasis but only on my scalp so not very noticeable.Have you looked into how much the creams will cost in Oz? BTW how bad is it...what treatment are you having? Thanks for your reply. I would say it is probably moderate psorasis, I have been taking Methotrexate drugs to treat it for the last 12 months or so.....I did ask my dermatologist consultant about it and he said it shouldn't effect my application, he also said that the drugs I am on are cheap to buy.... so fingers crossed. I have it on my knees, elbows, scalp, bits of legs etc. I'm so worried about it now though... .don't want to fall at the last hurdle! Thanks, Amanda
wellieboots
Basically what they are worried about is conditions that mean that you might struggle to work and take care of yourself and therefore take up healthcare and benefits which could be used by an Aussie. If the drugs you need are cheap, it should be straightforward enough, just be honest when you go for your medical and take it from there - good luck!
