That's fantastic news Addison05! When did you submit your application? We are still waiting - 17 weeks and counting

Thanks Jars

I think we originally posted it late August but for some reason shows as received on 19th October, there were some queries from them to our agent that I only found out about after e mailing Vetassess myself to see how the application was going. Was not too happy as we had been e mailing our agent before then to see if they had heard anything! This put it back about a month.

We submitted ours on 17 Nov 2011 but till today 20/03/12 there is no response except for Status of Application is still showing pending. My OH has written to them several times but the response is the same every time. We are from a HR country so maybe that is why it is taking longer than the usual.

Priscillagonsalves, sounds like we lodged at a similar time. I'm not from a HR country, so don't think that's the reason. My agent just emailed saying that VETASSESS said my application is in the final stages - could still take another 1-2 weeks!! That would make it 19 weeks. Not good. Let me know if you hear anything

Thanks Skyline. This waiting business is hell!

I received the hard copy today. The outcome is positive, but the problem is it was stated that my field of study is not relevant.I'm confused.I'm under Group B-Recruitment Consultant. Then under Qualifications it was stated:The qualification is in the required level.I don't know if I can claim this a a Bachelor's degree or AQF

Dear Prisc, I dont think that in VETASSESS assessment being HR country citizen matters, it matters in your application to DIAC. I am also from HR country. I received my result after 17 weeks and 3 days. So hopefully you will get a positive outcome in a few days.

This is BS honestly... I am so bloody upset and so is my hubby.... Waiting to get the post to see where we went wrong... We did not go through an agent did it ourselves. To the best of my knowledge we were so careful but only God knows what the hell happened... Reappeal is an option but it will only depend on what the reason for rejection was....

Oh my word Priscillagonsalves, I am so sorry to hear that!!!! After all this waiting as well. Is there anything that can be done about it..?

Maybe this time run it past an agent. Itll be worth it if it yeids a positive result.

RESULT!

We’ve had notification of our successful VETASSESS application today! Fantastic news and our agent is sending our WA state sponsor application off tomorrow. I’ve not got the full details as yet, only received an email from my fiancé sharing the good news. He won’t tell me all the details – he wants to tell me in person after work tonight. I’m so excited!

It has taken 17.5 weeks for ours – and it’s worth the wait!

Hi Guys!

Have been reading this thread with interest. Could anyone shed any light on our query please, as, if I understand the posts correctly, you can have a positive skills assessment result for work experience even though your qualification is not in a closely-related area of study? Just to shed more light on why I ask the question:

My hubby is an Interior Designer. He has an Ordinary National Diploma (Level 4) in Interior Design and a Higher National Diploma (Level 5) in 3-Dimensional Design (specialising in Interior Design). He has worked as an Interior Designer consistently since his study and for over 20 years now. He is an Associate with his current employer. However, to apply as an Interior Designer, he needs to have a degree. So, we were advised, at a free consultation with a migration agent of good standing, that he could potentially apply, nominating Interior Decorator as his occupation, as he does interior decoration (specifying paints, fabrics, wall/floor coverings, producing colour boards, etc. and arranging contractors to carry out work) as an integral part of his job. This occupation requires a diploma qualification. However, we are uncertain as to whether he would get a positive skills assessment result, as his HND is not specifically in Interior Decoration. We are looking to apply for a 176 SA SS.

If anyone can give us any guidance on this, it would really be appreciated.

Best of luck to you all with your applications

Congrats Avvy, it's exciting isn't it! We got our VETASSESS back last week and our WA state sponsorship was lodged yesterday...so onto the next waiting game, although I'm hopeful this stage won't take as long based on other's experiences.

Can any one tell me how to get a signature at the bottom updating our progress? Where abouts can I edit this?

Thanks in advance

Wonderful cutchibear!

Keep us updated about progress of your WA SS, as I applied two weeks back and still has not heard anything.

You have to click settings on top right and then click edit signature.
