Changing from WHV to de facto - tax

Recommended Posts

Guest Helen 1986

Hi everyone,

I came to Australia on a WHV and my application for de facto visa with my Australian partner has just gone in, can I still claim any tax back on my earnings on my WHV? How would I go about doing this?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Thanks, Helen

I should also add I have worked from March this year until now with two employers, a casual job March-May and permanent one from May through until now and I haven't submitted any sort of tax return.

Thanks, Helen

Pretty sure you're an australian resident for tax purposes, so you should get your tax return in asap.

Thanks for the reply!

Is there a cut off date for it?

You must have the Tax return in by 31st October, get your self a tax pack ASAP and you will be fine.
