car insurance for import cars

hi there,

i am hoping there is someone out there who can give us a name of an insurer who is willing to insure 2 imported UK cars.

 

I am stumbling across insurers who do not insure imports :mad:

I did an online quote a little while ago with Coles and I don't recall them asking if the vehicle was an import???? If they don't ask, do I need to declare....??

 

All cars imported to Oz are fully compliant with all Australian safety standards so am a little confused as to what the issue is unless it is a particular make/model that isn't available in Oz.

Thanks everyone.... will give the 2 links a go.

 

not sure exactly why they refuse insurance, but yes, both our cars (mitsubishi lancer and warrior) do exist here, just not the exact versions as here... eg engine size, diesel, manual etc etc)
