457 taking a long time

Just wondering what the typical process times are for an employer sponsored 457?

The company has an agent doing the work on the visa but it was submitted 25/07/11 changed to further processing 29/07/11

We were advised there would be decision this week but still nothing and the agent just says 'i've emailed your case officer and will let you know when i hear something'.

This seems like too long and I'm starting to think we have a problem.

The role is a sales manager role and i have submitted 6 years of experience verified in such a role by employers references.

Starting to panic a bit

One of mine took 4 months to come through, they had to apply for an exemption so I could carry on working on my WHV, that was a while back now though.

Hmmmm.....just spoke to immigration in Sydney who said 'still processing' and the visas can take 6-12 weeks.

Doesn't stop the finger nail chewing though

Good Day everyone,

I have just joined this forum because I got a job offer in Queensland and I will be starting the visa application process soon but I, first of all have to do a skills assessment. I want to do skills assessment for a Metal Fabricator and on the website it says you can do it online, I called VETASSESS and they told me that I have to post my certified documents to them. Please help, how do I go about doing this. I want to apply online. I am Zimbabwean based in South Africa. Passed IELTS on the 27/08/2011. For a skills assessment application does one need a TRN or you just apply using the Letterof Offer? Which is best VETASSESS or Victoria University?

Hey

Came across your post. it maybe a bit late to respond to it now. But how did it go. Did you manage to get the skills assessment sorted. Usually if you are being sponsored by an employer and your nomination has been approved you do not need a skills assessment.

ENS 186 nomination lodged-26/06.13. Nomination approved-05/09/13. 186 visa lodged- 06/09/13. Medicals-13/09/13. medicals cleared-19/09/13. Visa Grant- 20/11/13:biggrin:
