Hey Bob,

You finally back on track after a delay while waiting for ACT SS.

Thought I check if you know have an answer about form 80. I got assigned a CO and they have asked for meds and PCC but haven't mentioned form 80. Do you know if you have to provide it regardless

Yeah Bud

I am back ...No don't update it unless asked specifically by your case officer ... I have checked various forums for the same.. FORM 80 is not requested in many cases post July and visa was granted even without asking the same..Better let the sleeping dogs lie..

regards

Bob

Thanks Bob,

Rachel80 also suggested the same thing but I was receiving mixed information from other PIO members.

You are right, will wait until further information requested.

Since Aug was a quite month, you will get a CO soon. As you have an August applicant posted here, is it worth merging Aug and Sept?

Hi Bob,

Thanks very much for adding us here - much appreciated!

Just to update our details - we got our CO on the 17th August, and he requested only passport photos and meds. We had our meds on the 31st August (Wednesday just gone). Seems to me that most of our results are uploaded already and our daughter's are finalised but our blood tests aren't back yet so not yet uploaded. Fingers crossed they will be up by Tuesday/Wednesday next week and then the waiting game starts!

Thanks again!

Kate.

Hi Hia,

I can certainly help with some information if your sister is applying for the same visa as us. The state sponsored visa is a 176 visa. You mentioned a 475 visa which is the visa you get when you are sponsored by an employer. The 475 is even faster than the state sponsored 176. (Family sponsored visas are also called 176 but they are not processed as quickly).

I think state sponsored 176 visas are in category 3. I think if you look this up you will be told that a visa will be granted on average within 12 months of application, but in reality they are being processed waaaaaay faster than this right now. I think the fastest grant I have come across was about 23/24 days from application, but that person had their medicals organised straight away.

We applied on the 3rd August. We had all our supporting documentation ready and uploaded it all pretty much the same day. We booked our medicals for the 31st August, which was the earliest we could book. We got a case officer on the 17th August, about 14 days after application which is about average at the moment for state sponsored applications. Our CO asked us for medicals and passport photos only which we had not yet uploaded. We had our medicals on Wednesday of this week and when the results are uploaded we hope that our visa will issue about a month later. So about 5/6 weeks from the date of our application.

The important thing is that you have to have all your supporting documents in order - this includes your state sponsorship (separate application), any skills assessment or work experience assessment required, birth certs, marriage certs, degree etc etc. If you don't have your documents in order before you lodge your application your visa will take much longer.

Hope that's some help.

Kate.

Hey thanks Kate!

I think you are confusing visa 457 with visa 475...im talking abt 475 and that is regional sponsored visa my friend.:) which is also in the same priority processing as is 176.(P3) ...

Anyhow the info tht you gave me is quite helpful for me in terms of getting knowledge abtg the time.

My main concern is whther this processing speed will continue till december (i hope so) as she will apply in december after getting the state sponsorship ....Do you hav any idea on that????

Doh! Sorry Hia - yep had them mixed up.

Well I haven't heard anything to suggest it's going to slow down to be honest. Loads of people made applications coming up to the end of July, to get in before the rules changed, so I think there were probably fewer applications in August than is usual, but the July applications have been processed just as quickly. For us the stuff that took ages was the skills assessment, and then the work experience assessment required after we missed the July deadline - we had to get them from Engineers' Australia and they seemed to be pretty disorganised. It was a pain getting the job references etc too so when it came to the actual application everything has been going weirdly smoothly!

Afraid I don't know anything more but if you keep an eye on this page

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/estimated-allocation-times.htm

the table will tell you how far along DIAC are at any given time and you can see if they are started to slow down. At the moment you can see that 475's are at the same stage as 176's (see I'm learning!!)

Well we applied on 3rd August, and hope to have ours by say 14th September, about 6 weeks. That includes a couple of weeks delay to sort out meds. So your sister could do it faster if she front loaded her meds. So I would say she should have it by Jan depending on when in dec she lodges app. Bear in mind Christmas break when estimating times ....

kate if the application is loged in december what is the probability of the visa grant time???? approx till feb or march 2012??

Hia

There are lot of things that do matter through a visa grant. One can't just imagine how much time it will take as everyone's case, skill, documentation, country etc. is entirely different. You never know where you are stuck so nobody can really predict the same. Yes, what I can tell you from my experience is 475 shares same priority as 176 and they are processed faster than 176 as OZ govt is pumping funds to make 475 processing faster (as per DIAC website). Rest it depends on the situation ( at that time) when you file your visa. There is new "Expression of Interest" thing is coming as well which is another hurdle to cross. Good luck with your application.

Big Bob
