Hi all,

We are due to come out mid september my husband will be working in henderson, and i have looked into rentals in rockingham, baldivis, wellard and hillman.

I have 2 children son 14 and daughter 7, I would like opinions on the schools in these areas, i am drawn to rockingham high school ONLY because it has the specialist engineering course which my son would excell in and is what he wants a trade in.

I have looked at rockingham beach primary for my daughter anyone have children there or an opinion i would like to know the good the bad and the ugly on both .

many thanks tracy

Hi Tracy

My daughters 7 & 10 are at Rockingham Beach Primary and they love it. My son 16 is at Rockingham High and he has settled well, made lots of friends and is starting the part time plant engineering next year.

Any questions just ask :wubclub:

Thanks sam for your reply,

I am just so daunted by the school aspect, i hope to get them in to schools as soon as possible i believe the new term is the 14th october, hope to get them in quick to make new friends before the long holiday there, we should have tempoary rental set up by my hubbys employer for the first month so we can find something for when our container arrives.

We will also need a car as soon as possible, do you live in rockingham then or just outside i have tried to research as much as possible.

My daughter is very much into her wildlife and loves bughunting which is a worry she is just like dr do little ha ha bless. She is very excited and cant wait to make new friends, and visit perth zoo think i need to get her to the wildlife park, i have had her watching dvds and videos on australian animals so hopefully she can recognise the nasties ( i am scared stiff of spiders, snakes and lizards) ha.

My son was 14 in june, he is very much into his water sports loves kayaking and sailing and is just doing a diving course, he is looking forward to learning to surf, is it true they do surf lessons in school that would be fab !.

Are the uniforms very expensive is there anything i should buy this end ?

so sorry for all the questions panic mode has definately set in :chatterbox:x

cheers tracy :wubclub:

Hi Tracy

We live in Rockingham, a couple of streets back from the foreshore. There are plenty of car dealerships about and private sales, you can find most cars advertised on

http://perth.gumtree.com.au

http://www.carsales.com.au/

School uniforms

For Rockingham High school, they need the school polo top which is about $20.00 and they can wear black pants/ shorts but not jeans.

For Rockingham beach primary, green shorts, skort, skirt or pants and school yellow polo shirt.

I have the uniform price list here

Pleated skirt $ 18.00

Skort $ 18.00

Short or long sleeve polo shirt $ 16.00

Fleecy zip jacket $ 21.00

Library bag $ 6.00

They must have a hat and a bag with usual pencil case with pens, pencils, rubber, ruler etc.

A scrap book and water bottle.

You can choose to send a packed lunch or the canteen.

School starts at 8.30, crunch and sip time at 9.30, the kids take fruit and water for this. Lunch is at 11.00 am. School finishes at 2.30.

I would buy lots of knickers, socks etc they have them here of course but the quality and price, hmmmm. You cant beat George at Asda !

Do a shop at H&M too for clothes, or where ever. I feel that the clothes shopping lacks a wee bit here.

I have sent you a PM as we should meet up, if you fancy it. You never know your daughter could end up in my daughters class with them being the same age.
