Well we have decided we are going to wait for the kids to finish school or be a year away and then apply, husband will still just be in the age limit to get some points, should have more work experience and, could in that time get a qualification maybe? Also our mortgage will be paid off by then (hopefully) so all good. Roll on 5-6 years lol.:wink:

Yea but the goal posts might have changed by thenm and they wont let you in.

We looked at the visa process 3 years ago and held off, now we have to take double the amount of money over for our visa! We're just doing it now, before the government makes it even harder for us!


WA Sponsorship Submitted: 15/09/11, Approved: 27/10/11, Visa Submitted: 02/03/12, Lodged: 06/03/12, CO Assigned: 23/03/12, Meds & PC's Req'd: 08/05/12, Police Checks: 12/05/12, Meds: 15/05/12, Visa Granted:30/05/12, Landed in Australia: 07/09/12!!

It's hard enough for us to get in right now anyway, only option would be sponsor, so kind of hoping by the time we do it things would have changed and hopefully for the better. Fingers crossed.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Once your kids have their A levels then they will have a whole world of choices if you decide to move over then. But as the others have said - the world will be turning all the time and who knows what opportunities and regulations will be governing us by then. Good luck
