MARYROSE02 2,236 Posted August 17, 2011 alinchowdhury@yahoo.com This is the email address for my Tax Agent in Elizabeth St, Surry Hills, next door to Pizza Hut I think. He has done my last two or three returns and seems to be on the ball. I went to him simply because he was just down the road from my unit.
RobDav 10 Posted August 29, 2011 H&R Block are ok, they have loads of offices. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=-33.849177,151.202806
Alan Collett 3,338 Posted August 29, 2011 In my experience clients have come to us from H&R Block because of a lack of understanding of some of the international tax issues attaching to new migrants => ask pertinent questions before engaging them. Guest Nakrob Posted September 8, 2011 I'm interested in any advice here. I've recently done my own Aus tax returns on line. I used H&RB before and found then a bit ill informed with UK/Aus issues (I have a UK based rental property). I've come into a bit of cash recently in the UK which short term presents me with potential CGT issues in the UK which I'm unsure of, as well as how to invest going forward (don't want to transfer funds to Aus at current exchange rate). I'm therefore looking for a Sydney based tax/financial advisor who knows and understands the tax systems in both the UK and Australia who can advise me accordingly. brightonbee 65 Posted September 9, 2011 Siddals - not used them but they claim to be experts in this area. Not sure that you need specialist advice on 457 as tax returns submitted independent of each other .
Alan Collett 3,338 Posted September 9, 2011 Siddals - not used them but they claim to be experts in this area. Not sure that you need specialist advice on 457 as tax returns submitted independent of each other . * No office in Australia it seems. * I believe they are financial advisors, not tax accountants (happy to be corrected on this point). * No need for specialist tax advice on a 457 visa? Tell that to 457 visaholders who have had indifferent advice from tax advisors who are not across the special tax status of temporary visaholders who are residing in Australia ... Best regards.
