Can anyone please tell me, how long roughly did it take from the beginning to actually getting your 856 visa awarded?...

Thanks in advance

A friend of ours applied for their ENS 856 in February and was granted mid May, so around 4 months. However, with the changes on 1st July, not sure if they are taking longer now.

application lodged by post on 23rd December 2009.

visa approved wednesday 6th January 2010.

With xmas & new year inbetween I estimate it took about 7 days

This was in Vic, and I remember at the time other states were taking considerably longer.

getting the papers, meds, police checks etc all together took a few months, the visa was the easy bit.

This is not a one answer question as there are too many variables to consider.

Are you lodging DRC with an Agent?

Are you lodging the nomination and visa together?

Are the applicants from a high risk country?

Which DIAC processing centre will be processing the application? etc, etc…

Even with all these questions answered you will still not get a definitive answer as processing time can be erratic.

I have had ENS applications lodge at Parramatta take less than 2 weeks while other can take months.
