Guest lewisfamily
our agent said if a company will sponsor you they will be unable to help with that and the company needs to do the sponsorship paperwork which is on the government website. Guest suey
Hiya, We're going to Melbourne on a Temp 457 visa up to 4 years stay and after 2 years we can apply for Permanent Resendency! We were told ours would take 12weeks for the visa process, we're on week 15 now hopefully only 5 more weeks to go. The house is sold but not signing anything over until visa approved and we're hoping to be out in Melbourne mid Jan, the school term starts Jan 29th in Victoria. The three stages to getting your 457 visa are:- Business Sponsorship - the company has to apply for this ours applied online on the 5th June and the sponsorship was appoved 21st June. Nomination- The company do this too (online is quicker I'm told) they have to nominate you for the position within the company. Application rec 6th July application approved 6th Sept. Visa 457 - We applied for this on the 27th Sept online. Advised me and hubby need Xrays and kids need medicals, phoned up for them yesterday booked in for next week. £336 for us and 3 kids. To apply for the visa online I think it cost about £80. Anyway hope this helps Sue

We have done chest x-rays for hubbie and i and our daughter had to have a medical . Just waiting for visa (fingers crossed ) oh and house to sell . good luck Hazel x

You will be able to buy a house but will have to go through the Foreign Investment Revue Board www.firb.gov.au . They have all different rules regarding selling on if you leave, etc. Which areas are you looking at ?? Me and the wife cant decide !!!! Good luck Steve

Guest Caz+John
Hi Helaine, We are going on a 457 which is the sponsorship visa and this is up to 4 years. Hubby and I are going to work within the Healthcare profession and the hospital have advised us that we can apply for permanent residency after 3 months, they will do all the necessary paperwork for us. Also it is much easier to apply for permanent asap even if you don't intend to stay as we have been advised that we will have to pay a fee towards schooling if we are temp residents. I would defo go down this line of visa if i were you and i would also apply on line as it is much much quicker and cheaper.

It was recomended to us by a friend of my brother's, she's Australian but lives temp in England. My family were also in touch with a migration company and were told that pathway D has been removed at present. We have only just started the emigration process and would welcome any advice that you can offer us! please get in touch. Adele
