Don't forget though that as of 1st July all the states had a full list of SS vacancies and so I guess they are fulfilling these. Once the SS queue calms down, that's when we will see some movement in this category.

I'm gutted I did not go down the SS route, was talked out of it by my agent, though in reality I probably would be able to go any how straight away.

What's with the agents and SS route??? I wanted to apply for a SS but my agent also convinced me to go for the 175

Yeah, though even the update says August, From the forums I would say they are up to November / early December. I recon that by the end of this month we will see people from January 2011 getting case officers.

I think its more work for agents to go the SS route but I think DCAL is correct I don't think it will take them long to get through cat 4 and the agents probably think the same by the time you have gone the SS route you would probably have your original visa anyway , at present with it being the new financial year I think Diac normally take a bit of time to deal with all the new changes I don't think it will be long before we start to see some of us on here getting CO :jiggy:

My agent advised the SS route, but I thought it was unnecessary... processing times then seemed to be 12-18 months for 176 and 12-24 months for 175, and we couldn't go to our first choice of state. Also it would cost more, because the agent costs extra for the SS application...

I am very hard trying not to be impatient, or to feel envious of all those people who started this process later than we did and already have their visa. But I'm also feeling sorry for the cat5 people. If I get impatient after 6 months, how would they feel waiting for 3 years???

I so no that feeling we jumped through hoops to keep from the bottom cat even got State sponsor then to be told they have changed it to SMP that was a blow its self then we ended up in the bottom cat but then found our self's being moved up to Cat 4, so yes its frustrating when people are getting their visas when you have lodged before them being a November 2008 you do learn to be patient.

Yeah I don't think at present their would be much time difference especial having to wait on the state to make a decision first and like you said it costs and each state requirements are different.

So here is hoping that we hear something soon.

hello all members, I think the DIAC don't update the time processing web page regularly. Nevertheless, don't loose your hope. It will come soon :arghh::arghh::arghh:
