Guest Doc Googles
Hi Family sponsored 176 applicants. Any news on visa grants fo the June applicants ? I think some people who applied in June have been granted visas . I applied Jun 16 - I'm assuming I'll have a CO assigned any day now. PJ2OZ
HI, I've come back to the forum after a bit of time off - my 176 family sponsored application was lodged Oct 30 2008, so I figure I must be one of the longer servers on here. I've heard nothing since the changes happened last year, but had heard nothing from my agent prior to that anyway. People advised changing to SS, but no State sponsors my skill as Life Scientist, which is what my agent put me down as.
Guest Rakeshpatel
Hi PJ20Z, Seems you are in priority 5.. if you applied from out of Australia..then for your case. No CO allocation has started yet for Priority 5. see this link http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/estimated-allocation-times.htm http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/8.0.htm http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/whats-new.htm Best luck. Guest Doc Googles
Hi Family 176'ers As far as I know DIAC are at least up to Jun 10 for the Cat 3's. I lodged Jun 16. I'm not aware of anybody who lodged after that date getting a CO but it's quite possible. Anyone know what dates the CO's are now up to ? Guest Doc Googles
DIAC are slowly picking up after the Christmas / NY lull. They have allocated a CO to at least one applicant who lodged Jun 23. A few from early June have already been granted their Visas.

priscillagonsalves
So it seems that family sponsored visa does get looked at, as i was told that DIAC does not even look at those family sponsored visa category at all. So there is hope for those of us who want to consider applying for the 176 Family sponsored visa. Can my husband's brother in law (sister's husband) be our sponsor as his sister has only been in Australia for 1 year and i think that a minimum of 2 years is required to sponsor family. Can anyone help me here.
