Working in uk for australian company, where do i pay tax

Recommended Posts

Guest lancashire2goldcoast

I'm hoping someone out there can help as after searching the internet and both uk and aus tax office websites i cant find any answers! I am a british citizen and my partner is australian. We live in australia and have done for the past 5years . After becoming pregnant with my second child we have decided to move back to the uk and i have a job opportunity working for an australian company however i will be based from home in the uk. The australian company does not have an entity in the uk, they will be transferring wages into my uk account so my question is, how do i pay tax and who do i pay it to?

Thanks for your help!

I am not a tax specialist or an accountant and if I'm honest I have no blinkin idea, lol x but I think there is a double taxation agreement with the UK and Australia so that you will only pay tax in one of the countries, as you are going to be resident in the UK I would think it would be tax paid in the UK.

If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present.
