Some interesting figures:

As of Nov 2011, there were 27 347 applications lodged from in Australia and 15284 applications lodged from outside Australia.

As at 13 April 2012, all clients who lodged their application before 5 January 2009 have been contacted by their case officer. A further 21 471 Priority Group 5 cases are awaiting allocation. As at 13 April 2012 there were approximately 1840 Priority Group 4 cases lodged outside Australia awaiting allocation. A further 14 914 Priority Group 5 cases are also awaiting allocation.

Therefore during this time DIMIA (approx. 6 months) has processed 5876 onshore Cat 5 and 370 offshore Cat 5 applicants.

hmm 6,000 approx applications are not bad at all. I bet 80% of Grp 5 applications should be finished up by 2012-13 financial year.

Hello all -

Can anyone please clarify for me - has the allocation to case officers of onshore 885 applications in Category 5 been put on hold? I read the passage below and I'm confused!

As indicated in that information only State Sponsored Offshore Priority 5 applications are currently being allocated and allocations of Skilled Australian Sponsored applications on- and offshore in Priority Groups 4 and 5 are on hold as we seek to ensure sufficient State Sponsored and Skilled Independent applications are in the processing stream to deliver the 2011-2012 Migration Program according to the planning levels set by Government.

i saw in the latest update that state spnsored application visa subclass 475 (offshore applications) will get their case officers allocated by may end 2012. is this true?

they said that All the State or Territory Sponsored applicants can expect to be contacted by a case officer by 31 May 2012

see: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/estimated-allocation-times.htm
