I am due to apply for PR this November which is when my 2 years is up on the temporary spouse visa. i''m thinking of having a 6 week holiday in the UK around this time- am I allowed to leave and still apply for PR? I was an onshore applicant when i got my visa. How might this work if I am out of the country when the 2nd stage visa is due?

Hi Meme,

I believe you have to inform your Case Officer of your plans and it will be granted on your return.

This is what has just happened to a friend of mine and it didnt appear to cause any problems..

See what others have to say.

You have to keep DIAC informed if your address changes for more than 14 days. As people have said, you can be onshore or offshore when the PR is assessed and granted, but DIAC need to be able to contact you. Just ring them up and let them know your plans and contact details during the trip and they'll put a note in your file.
