I'm now debating whether or not to simply ship some boxes (rather than getting part of a container) out and leave my tele behind.

If i buy new things (bed linen, pc equipment, games, books etc) and ship them out ebfore i leave will customs charge me?

I'm not really up to speed with the do's and don'ts of shipping and the condition things have to be in etc....

anything less than a year old will be subject to import tax. Then again, if it's out of the packaging, and doesn't look entirely brand new, then who's to know.

I see.... Similarly i have things which look as good as new which are over a year old... how will they decide on what to tax and has anyone had to pay this??
