Guest kev and del
Hi everyone wondered if you can help? Does anyone know the best and cheapest way I could transfer money on a regular basis back to UK. We have a rental property etc... and need to send back to maintain our nest egg. Would be about $300 month. Living the dream! Kind regards Del
phil
I'll have to do the same thing, so would be interested in what you find is the best approach.
Guest kev and del
Yes I'm sure this is going to become more common with people moving to Oz having to rent their properties out. Fortunately renting out for us was always the plan but I know some poor people just can't sell in UK. I see you have just arrived. I wish you well in your adventure! Living the dream! Kind regards Del We're planning to do the same and will probably use Tranzfers as we've used them in the past to transfer money from the UK to NZ. We've also used paypal which is quite cheap.
Guest GeorgeD
Don't just focus on the fees...make sure you know the rates as well. At the end of the day the most important thing is to maximise the foreign currency you get for whatever you want to change...so if you tranfer $1000 and get GBP650 but pay $10 fees, or transfer $1000 and get GBP600 with no fees, then frankly I'd rather pay the fees and get more money thanks! You should get a better rate with a specialist Forex company, like Moneycorp or HiFX. They can set up regular transfers for you. I haven't paid any fees on any HiFX transfers, and I beleive Moneycorp offer the same conditions to PIO memebrs. Whilst PayPal is easy, you won't get the best rates...the Forex guys will also let you do it online, so have a look at them. They also have advisors who can discuss with you the best way to transfer your money (and how often, etc)

Guest tlander56
Hiya! We have used OzForex for around 5 years to pay our UK mortgages. Never had a problem with them. Good rates and $15 fee Tanya

Living the dream! Kind regards Del I wouldn't bother sending back $300 at a time unless you absolutely have to to make up mortgage payments or whatever. If you don't have to do that, keep it in an Aus bank account and send back evrery few months. Transferz.
Guest Deacons
I think you should consult your banker transfer your funds back to pounds. You need to keep an eye on the bank charges while transferring the funds.I am sure you find a better method of transfer through which minimum charges are applicable.
