* Multiple midwife positions available in brand new public hospital

* Short commute - great work/life balance

* Sponsorship available

* Assistance with relocation costs/initial accommodation

* Work in all areas of midwifery practice

* Booming town in country NSW - plenty of work opportunities for partners/family

* NSW has the best midwife pay rates in Australia

I am a CMC who actually works here - no going through an agency, no "fairy stories" to get you here only to be disappointed. UK and Irish midwives are very highly regarded, hence why I am here looking for you!!

Please PM me if interested... :smile:

Hi

Sorry I have been so busy with work that I haven't been on here for a while. If anyone would like more information you can contact me via pm.

Our hospital is brand new with all new equipment for birthing and Special Care Nursery.

We have approx 850 - 900 births per year. Level 4 delineated (babies from 32-34 weeks) Obstetric risk includes placenta praevia, twins, most complicated pregnancies. Referral unit for 4 other smaller units in our area.

We have vacancies for registered midwives (rotational across antenatal care including midwife led clinics, day assessment unit, commencing caseload midwifery alongside existing model in next few months, intrapartum and postnatal care and postnatal community midwifery care). We welcome direct entry midwives (I am one) and will consider new graduates who can meet visa requirements.

We also have vacancies for registered nurses with special care nursery or NICU qualification and/or recent experience working in these areas. We currently have approx 8 full time vacancies for either RN or RMs.

I am the Clinical Midwife Consultant and currently also Unit Manager so please contact me via pm if you need any further information :)

Hi Jooby, I am a new member and I am a qualified midwife considering relocation to Australia. I have friends who are currently in Brisbane and Loving it. Any info would be appreciated. Are there any relocation packages. Thanks

Hi Eileen

Up to $1500 can be reimbursed for flight costs, free accommodation (onsite or in town) is available for couples for 6 weeks (can be negotiated for longer in certain circumstances). We are a country town, 3 hrs from Sydney, 11 hrs drive from Brisbane. We are commencing caseload midwifery alongside traditional models in March 2012.

If you would like anymore information please email me at jenny.soar@gwahs.health.nsw.gov.au
