Youonlyliveonce
Hi My friend is visiting from the UK in August, its the only time of year she can come and I have explained about how cold it is in Melbourne that time of year. So I thought we could go away for a few days to somewhere warm and sunny...maybe Queensland. Anyone recommend somewhere nice for a short break that will offer better weather than Melbourne in August?? Thanks!
dufont
Port Douglas is a nice place for a short break
Youonlyliveonce
We went there last Oct, loved it, what would the weather be like there in Aug?
dufont
We once went in July and the max temperature in the day was about 28 degrees I think, and the evenings required a jumper, for me anyway
Guest guest36187
Anywhere in far north queensland would be good. Brissie would still be chilly. The granite belt in southern Qld is beautiful but it was cold last week and winterisnt here yet!!

Guest guest36187
I'd say high teens to low twenties the average day and night. It is cold to me!! When you are used to 35 degrees then anything under30 is freezing!! Lol
Guest The Ropey HOFF
Your lucky your not coming to sunnyless Yorkshire where i live, we haven't had any sunny weather in August for the last 10 years or more. lol The further North you go the warmer it will be, my aunty loved Cairns in North Queensland and you might get some cheap internal flights if you book early enough.
