Somewhere sunny and warm to take a visitor in Aug?!

Hi

My friend is visiting from the UK in August, its the only time of year she can come and I have explained about how cold it is in Melbourne that time of year.

So I thought we could go away for a few days to somewhere warm and sunny...maybe Queensland.

Anyone recommend somewhere nice for a short break that will offer better weather than Melbourne in August??

Thanks!

Anywhere in far north queensland would be good. Brissie would still be chilly. The granite belt in southern Qld is beautiful but it was cold last week and winterisnt here yet!!

I'd say high teens to low twenties the average day and night. It is cold to me!! When you are used to 35 degrees then anything under30 is freezing!! Lol

Your lucky your not coming to sunnyless Yorkshire where i live, we haven't had any sunny weather in August for the last 10 years or more. lol

The further North you go the warmer it will be, my aunty loved Cairns in North Queensland and you might get some cheap internal flights if you book early enough.
