Hi,

While filling the 175 online application I came across following doubt. I was planing to claim 5 points for partner's qualifications and found that his occupation is not given in the drop down list in on-line application. He is an ICT security specialist and hold the code 262112 in SOL schedule 4. Any idea whether you cannot claim points for partner when his/ her occupation is in SOL 4??

Hi Shimmer Girl,

Thought I'd bump this post to help you out.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think he would need to be on the SOL Schedule 3 list in order for you to claim points. If he was on that, he would still have to get his skills assessed by the ACS before you could claim the points. What occupation is it you're applying under?

We decided it was more cost and hassle to try and prove my OH's occupation to claim 5 points, so I went for the IELTS test to boost my points level - just waiting on results now, should be here next week!! Though my skills assessment is still not here, so could be tight whether we make it before the potential July changes.
