MRI scans

Can anyone enlighten me on the cost of MRI scans in Queensland . I've got to have three at the same time and my doctor told me I will have to pay for them. Will I get any Medicare rebate, has anyone had them in qld ? Thanks for any help , Micky

Sorry Micky, I still dont understand the system. I have a succession of MRI's at the hospital on a regular basis and I pay nothing. I receive all radiology cheques and post them onto the hospital.

 

Kevin (Itcouldbeworse) is a good source of information, his wife works in the system, he can explain it more to you.

Thanks susie , I googled it and various answers came up , some saying $100-$500 and some saying free and different answers for different states . I thought the good people on pio would be the best to ask .my doctor is Russian and sounds like Alan Partridges girlfriend leaving me a little confused !

We paid just short of $370 for daughters MRI scan. We got a rebate of $204.
