Guest peawack Posted May 13, 2011 hi all, i`m looking into emigrating to oz, and am a fully qualified domestic gas engineer, but have not been employed in this field for the last 5-6 years. do i have much chance of getting in and also what does the skills test that i would have to pass involve ie: fitting a gas fire, cooker, installing a boiler etc. can anyone shed any light on these questions please
Petals 4,259 Posted May 13, 2011 Welcome to the forum do not have any information for you but hope that someone pops along soon and has. I guess telling us the State you are interested in would be a step to getting some help. Also have a look at Seek.com.au its a large job site and may give some assistance. There are other sites around if you just google jobs au Good luck. It is the weekend now so if you do not get an answer I guess its because its family time. Just bump the thread. Guest peawack Posted May 17, 2011 hi susie, good to hear from you. your link to the gas fitters thread was really useful. thanks very much. it looks quite difficult to get in as a uk trained gas fitter, so i`ll just have to look at all possibilities. thanks for taking the time to reply to me and get me the info. take care, peter.
