The ONE Thing You Would Have Changed About Your Life.

Morning/Evening people.

OK, so I often say that I don't regret ANYTHING that has happened in my life, I can with hand on heart say that what has happened to me previously has made me into the person I am today, that may mean I am good, bad, indifferent, selfish, the list is endless, but all in all the things that have happened in my life have happened for a reason and I embrace (to a greater or lesser degree) all these experiences, BUT.

I would be lying if I said I don't look back and wish that things 'may' have been a little different. My ONE biggest regret was my second marriage, I should clarify that. Even though we had many, many happy times and to this day I still respect, admire and in a strange kind of way love my second wife, when the wheel fell off by God did it fall off big time.

It led me down an avenue that at the time I both loved and hated, I had experiences that I would never have had if it had not been for the split, too boring to go into detail, but at that time I was somewhere that I was very lucky to come out of.

But saying that, I can now look back at these experiences and be thankful for them, as they have taught me a lot and I now try and live my life looking back at what I learnt during this time, and for that I guess I am very thankful.

So, if you could change just ONE thing about your life what would it be ?

Cheers Tony, (Looking up his own backside again,:realmad:)

I dont think there is much I would have changed Lemmings...

Every experience good or bad has been for a reason of course, I would have loved to have been able to have had my children in Australia, personally I think its a great land to raise children more for the visa aspect than "the good life".. Europe has been kind to us.

Life has some strange turns within it, but you also make your luck more often than not lol.

The only thing I wish I could have changed is that I wish I had known mark earlier. A his early army life really appealed to me and I know I would have been a good army wife!!!!!

Nothing........Although I have been through some pretty dark times and suffered things most people only ever read about,it has only made me a stronger person. If I hadn't been to those dark places I do wonder what kind of person I would have beeen. However no point looking back.Onwards and upwards I say.

Having the ability to have children would be the one and only thing for me ... not so much of a regret as not my fault as its medical but really just a sad fact. If I had the chance over to change any possibilities that would be the one.

YOu know I look back and wonder about things I maybe should have experienced when I was younger, but at the end of the day, If I had made those choices, I may very well not be where I am now. So I wouldnt change anything.

I would have applied for our PR visa when we lived in Canada instead of putting it off and having to leave when the job ended. As much as I love it here I left a piece of my heart there.

I honestly can't think of one thing and the reason is i have done alot better in my life than i could have imagined, when i was at school i threw it all away, i discovered the girls at 15 and my education went out of the window and left with only 2 o'levels and i went to work in a dead end job in the mill and at 28 i joined the prison service, by luck they set me on and my life has been as good as it gets since then, a lovely wife and 2 fantastic kids and money to travel all over the world and get a visa to live in the best of those countries we have visited - Australia.

I would have followed through with a med school application after our second child. DH was half heartedly prepared to move at that stage but I was half way through my masters and thought I would finish that but then decided I was too old (in those days I probably was, nowadays it wouldnt be out of place at all)

Should have said I love you to someone and told them how I felt. I didn't....I will always wonder what would have happened if I had.

I wouldn't have gone to University, I'd have joined the army from 16/18 instead of waiting until now when the recession means there's barely any spots for anyone regardless of trade. I'd also be 7 years into a decent career, nearly at pension point and would do a straight forward transfer into the Aussie Army. The only bonus is that I do earn more now than I would at whatever point I'd be at in the army now, but I wouldn't have any student debts and a degree that's actually hindered me in finding a job rather than helping!

Yes , life has made me what I am now ... but I wish I had become a £10.00 Pom when my Uncle did ...

I did that...Wish I had done it earlier instead of serving my apprenticeship in the wool trade.

In those days (early 1960s) work was so easy to get anywhere.

Cheers, Bobj.

.... I'd have married a man with a sense of adventure!

No, seriously, (ok, my above comment was a bit serious!) I would have trained as a nurse when I had the opportunity after leaving school

When I was 18 I got a share tip for a gold mining company. It was trading at 2cents a share. I didn't buy, although I had $8000 in the bank. But that was for my education. In six months the shares were trading at $1.50 a share. doh!

Since then I've had about half a dozen opportunities to become very wealthy. I missed them all. Either too cautious or too keen. I've also had about six near death experiences. I think it's Karma keeping me alive.

Hehehe...as always Tony, another one of those interesting questions about life which makes you think....

I agree with you mate, in that, I would not change anything, since bad or good, life has thought me a lot to become a better person (I think!!!)...

Well, thinking more about it, I would change all those times which, I, maybe, have hurt other people, unintentionally obviously, but just because I was not mature enough ;)

Cheers

Like Joob Joob (and Pam Ayres) oh I wish I'd looked after me teeth! and I wish we'd started our application process sooner, when the exchange rate was better and house prices higher!!!

Other than that - what went before makes me the strong woman I am now.... If I'd changed anything I wouldn't be where I am now - and it's not a bad place to be.
