Guest FayeandKeith Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Hi Everyone I Have been lurking around the forum for a while now as we have had our 175 visas for almost 3 years! One thing and another have kept us making the move, most recently a new baby! - Well a year ago already. My hubby has now been offered an amazing opportunity in Melbourne, fabulous relocation package and we are all set to go! This has happened within the last month so all been so quick! Our one problem now is we don't have the visa for my youngest and have been told it could take 7-8 months? We've also told she may be able to go in on a tourist visa until her visa is granted. The company taking us over in Oz is going to apply for the child visa for us I just wanted to see if anyone had had a similar experience and could offer any advice? We are looking at leaving end of June at the latest. Thanks Faye
Guest SDoman Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Hi, What was the outcome of your actions? Were you able to go to Aus without struggling to add your youngest child? We are sitting in the same position and would like to find out what options we have. Thanks Sanet
lebourvellec Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 If you already have PR visa, you will need to apply for child visa. http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/child/101/ Applying offshore is $1000 cheaper than onshore.

Hi Thanks for the info. Is it possible to apply offshore for a subclass 101, however, also apply for a Tourist Visa (subclass 676) for the baby and take the baby into Aus with the tourist visa so long while the other visa is being processed. Guest FayeandKeith Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Sorry have not been keeping up with POI for a while just been so hectic since we arrived. We applied online before we left the UK for a tourist visa, we have an agent in Aus currently applying for the same visa we all have - 136. In the meantime we have just received a bridging visa I think it is called, in case the tourist visa expires before the 136 is approved. There hasn't ben any problems just that Kaia is on a reciprical medicare card different to the rest of the family until her PR comes through. hope that helps.

We have a 175 visa (Permanent residency), I am not sure what the 136 visa is that you have. For which tourist visa did you apply for the baby? Do you perhaps have the code. Is it possible to send me the email adres of the agent who is currently helping you. I want to find out if we can apply for the subclass 101 for our baby from outside Aus and apply for the tourist visa at the same time to get her into Aus so long. I am not sure if Aus-immigration will allow two different applications at one time. It so difficult to get info. Please help if you can. PS: hope the settling in has been going ok. Sanet
Guest FayeandKeith Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Hi , um sorry may have confused the visa type - we have permanent residence too, when we received our visa in 08 it was a 136 sub class. OK, have just spoken to my hubby and clarified what we did. So on advice of our agent - will pm you his details - he is brilliant! We applied online for a tourist visa which Kaia (baby without visa!) used to enter Aus when we arrived - had no problems with that. We were still getting papaerwork together so our application for her permanent visa was only lodged about a month after we got here. When you apply for that you automatically are issued with a Bridging visa until the result of you application is received. Not that complicated just the expense and going through the paperwork and froms again!! hope that is a bit clearer - about to loose the connection - agent is George Lombard based in NSW - you can find him on google if you have a problem I will look up his number tomorrow for you - good luck !
lebourvellec Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 136 visa is same as 175, they changed the numbers 1 sept 2007. If you apply for 101 offshore, processing times are faster. But if you apply offshore then go to australia, you would need to tell your CO, as you need to leave the country with the baby for the visa to be granted, then re-enter Aus after granted to validate visa. If you apply onshore 802 child visa, which is more expensive like fayeandkeith a bridging visa would be issued and when visa granted you wouldnt need to leave. Processing times 101 offshore 3 months LR Country 14 months HR 802 onshore 7 months LR 8 months HR http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/5.0.htm
Guest SDoman Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Thanks so much for all the info from both of you. It appears if it is better to apply for her visa from Australia. Does it matter for which tourist visa we apply for her? We do not qualify for the eVisitor visa (South Africa).
Guest SDoman Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Faye - sorry, one more question - how much does George Lombard charge you to apply on behalf of you? (Thus the charge excluding the visa fee)
