Shaz36 Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Hi All, Well, finally got here and been here 3 weeks now. OH due to start work on Tuesday and will be looking to build a clientele. He's a fantastic hairdresser from the UK, trained at Vidal Sassoon, had his own business for over 10 years, and worked/taught for L'Oreal, Wella and Sebastian, both in the UK and in their international art teams. He will now be working for Oscar Oscar at Indooroopilly, and his name is Anton, so if any of you are looking for a new hairdresser, give him a try. I am sure you wont be disappointed. I hear its hard to find a decent hairdresser here when you are used to UK trained hairdressers. Cheers Shaz
Guest cymru Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Will keep that in mind as we are not far from indro. Just had mine cut and coloured last weekend after 2 1/2 years of not wanting to go to hairdressers - came out with wrong colour. So next time I might go along and see your OH. Hope you are loving it here in Brissy Nicola
Guest lisaxxx Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Hi I trained in Bond Street with Stephen Way who was a teacher for Vidal Sassoon and now have a salon on Brisbanes Northside. I am looking for a senior stylist/manager and a Beauty Therapist. If things don't work out where you are please contact me. Lisaxxx

Lisaxxx Hi Lisa, Anton actually has met Stephen, as our salon in the UK was a member of 3.6.5 Hairdressing, where Stephen was also a member. What a small world! Thanks, its good to make contacts, and we will keep your offer in mind should things not work out. Shaz

We're settling in and loving it so far. I think Anton will be glad to get back to work though, as he does love what he does and is missing it. He wouldnt colour it but would cut it, as when you train with Vidal Sassoon you either specialise in cutting or colouring, and the technicians work with the stylists to do the colour. At Oscar Oscar in Indro they work the same way. I can understand being nervous about finding a new stylist, he had some of his clients in Glasgow for 16yrs and they were in tears when they found out he was leaving! People do get attached to their stylist.
Guest PommieChick Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Breaking up with a decent hairdresser is far more upsetting than breaking up with a boyfriend!
Fashionably Late Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I am so glad I found this thread. I was stressing over my hair and moving to Australia. It took me ages to find a colourist I liked when I moved to the UK. Will definitely look your OH up when I arrive.
Guest Georgina Woods Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Hi Anton - loved my haircut for the first time in years! Thank you! Then I returned to Oscar Oscar to be told you had left and had a career change! Really? I was so disappointed! If you are working privately or somewhere else please let me know! Many thanks - need my hair cut before Christmas - you really did a super job!
Guest Poshdragon Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Hi Georgina, I too tried to rebook with Anton and was told about his ''career change''. Career change...my a*se! I have yet to find out where Anton is now working. Have you had any luck or managed to find anyone else? I found it was the best cut I'd had in years. So disappointing that he has disappeared.

Just called Oscar Oscar and was advised of his career move. If you know him (or if you're his wife that he talks about!) can you let me know if he still does haircuts from home? Thanks Natalie
