Hiya everyone, we are a young family both 21 and have a 8 month old daughter, i am a qualified electrician and wondering how hard it would be to find a job down under and the pros and cons about moving with a young child.

Welcome, there are a lot of jobs for electricians here in Australia.

As to moving you really need to think about where you would like to live. Once you have selected a place to head for, check on all the information available here in the State forum.

There is a designated Electricians thread here, just use the search function and it will come up. This will help you with licensing etc.

We are just at the start of the process but as my understanding goes General Skilled Migration can take up to 12 - 18 months, the 457 employer sponsored visa takes approx 6 - 8 weeks (great if u can find an employer to sponsor u)

Nows the time to do it Jamie .....at your age you have NO FEAR ....all is ahead of you .

Great place to bring up your kids .....Bunbury W.A was ideal for us .

Its only when you get older , you have more doubts , responsibilities , issues , ties , problems ......its great getting old :biglaugh:
