Guest kusher Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Hiya Im in the middle of filling in the forms for a partner visa for my hubby.....just a quick question, as I live in London Ill just be handing all my evidence into the Australian Embassy in person, do I still need to get things like my husbands passport certified? And what exactly does this mean?? I know I have to get other stuff certified but how do I get a passport certified? Does someone just put a stamp in it somwhere? Also do the Australian govt keept my hubbys passport until the visa is processed, I understand this can take a LONG time, and I want to go on holidays lol xx many thanx for your helps Karen
boganbear Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Getting documetns certified is a process where a photocopy is made and an authorised person writes on the copy words to the effect that they have checked the copy and it is made from the original. They date, sign it and put their contact details on it. Your husband doesn't need to send a passport anywhere until the Australian High Commission ask for it. They usually return it in a couple of days.
