Hi all,

OMG!!!! :biggrin:Can't believe that we have finally received our visa - was totally unexpected as our CO only received our completed police checks yesterday - thought we would have to wait at least a couple of months.

We are hoping to touchdown in WA about October time (by we I mean my OH Gav 41 - fibrous plasterer, son Alex 13 and daughter Lauren 8).

Think we have decided to rent in the Woodvale area and would love to hear from anyone with any knowledge of these areas (good or bad), particularly regarding the senior school.

Hi Tam

We hope to get our visa next month and we will be heading to Woodvale too. My brother has lived there for 10 years and we have visited him there. Woodvale is a lovely, but expensive area... You can't go wrong moving there and the schools are very good... my children will be going to that school also. I have a prospectus here, if you email the school they will certainly get in touch and send you anything you ask.

Good luck and maybe I will see you there soon!

Laura :)

Hi Laura

Thanks for that, will definately get in touch with the school. How old are your children?

Fingers crossed for your visa, they seem to be coming through really quickly. Will be great if you move to the same area as we don't know a soul in Perth which is a bit of a daunting prospect. Need to make some drinking friends!!!

hi,

We are currently in Melbourne but heading to Perth soon.!!! we hope in the next few months...

We are also looking for schools, noticed Woodvale.!! quite impressed.

We have two boys 16 and 13 and really want to live in a suburb that has buses into Joondalup, and also easy access for beach.

Also, want somewhere the boys can walk to school ideally, or one easy bus ride and somewhere that has a lot of teenagers that they can meet up with, or play at the park (football).

Tam... my children are 12, 14 and 18 so it is slightly easier with this age group as they are excited and really looking forward to going. Woodvale is expensive but it is a great area for amenities such as Whitfords, the train station, local shops, Hillarys beach and the freeway.

Good luck to you... and we must keep in touch!

Hi Elaine,

Thanks for the reply. What is taking you from Melbourne to Perth? Woodvale certainly seems to tick all the boxes, good schools, beaches, access to Perth etc. Hope to see you there soon......keep me posted on how you get on. When I figure out how to send a private message on POM (rubbish at this technology) I will give you my email address
