Guest tabatha Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Wonder if anyone can advise us?? We have a 176 visa and are due to go to perth in october 2011. My question is.. Could we start a small business of our own?? No finacial funding required.. Or do I have to work in the area I got my visa on even although I qualify and hold a public Liability license for a different trade also would I have to employ an ozzy???? We have a business plan and finances to start up but before i look into it any further just thought i'd ask... any views would be a great help?????????????:cute::cute:
Guest bushell and hernandez Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 we are going to perth in september on a 176, and was only thinking the same thing yesterday, had a look on the australian immagration website, and it says with a 176 visa we have the same rights as any australian, so i take it we can start a business, like wise we can buy a property, i did hear somewhere along my travels that we could'nt but i don't know where i heard this and would'nt know why this would be the case. we are thinking the same, start a business when we get there. can't wait to get there:biggrin: Bushell and Hernandez. Vetasses passed Feb. 09, 175 visa lodged May 09, changed to WA 176 Aug 09, Case officer issued 18/01/11, medicals and police checks submitted Jan 11, visa granted 19/01/11 "flying 1st september"

Guest sooperlids Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 As far as I am aware there is no problem with you starting your own business. Or you partner (if you have one) Might scupper my plans if you can't. I think the employing an aussie/s is a requirement of a business Visa.
