Guest WA Jezza Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Hello guy's and gal's A question, i have been in and around the transport game for many years and as such could buy a very cheap 20 or 40 ft container, transport this end to the docks would be no problem nor would transport from Freo the other end, my question is, how much would/could it save me if i went this route, storage of the container would not be a problem in Oz as it would go to my cousins farm, then once empty sold on. Is this something worth considering, any feedback would be much appreciated Cheers Jez

ghost Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I would approach the shipping companies directly. Ie the companies with the ships. Interesting to know how you get on.

AndrewC Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Don't buy a container without doing some careful research. Not only will you find the cost of the UK road transportation expensive, how will you lift it ( once loaded ) onto a truck . . a mobile crane will cost big bucks, mobile container-lift trucks cost the earth. It is unlikely you will find a shipping line who will ship this for you. You will find the shipping lines will only want to ship their own ISO plated containers.

Guest mandi1971 Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 How did you get on with your container? Mandi
Guest jonathanAd Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Yes WA Jezza, i do agree with AndrewC as i also think that you should not buy container without doing any market research because there could be some risk factor involve in it.
