jenpen87 Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Hi everyone, Just thought I'd share my ANMC experience with those of you in the same boat. It's taken six weeks for all my info to reach the ANMC. I logged on and was so relieved to see they had all of my documents. Several weeks pass and they change their name to the ANMAC, I can no longer log in to track my progress, I'm told not to email them re my progress and nothing is done to enable me to log in. The process time has now changed from 6-8weeks to 10-12 weeks, and my application has now been there 11 weeks. I still await their email re my application process. I'm applying for a 176 visa and must have my application in before July 1st, when the criteria changes. ANMAC tell me I'm not the only one in this situation. Are the ANMAC heading the same way as the AHPRA??? How is everyone else getting on???

Its all a nightmare!!! we were lucky enough just to get straight forward assessment last year with the ANMC but trying to get info from AHPRA is a nighmare. Im sure your not alone. Lisa
Mummy Mann Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I completed my online application in march. They received the certified documents I sent a month after posting. I have had to request the other documents to be sent again as they never arrived ( so frustrating !!!) I emailed then the other day as I am worried I won't get a decision before July. I was told it would take 12 weeks from the date they received the documents :0(
Guest micky38 Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 What is it with the Ozzies and name changes??? ANMC is now ANMAC. DIAC used to be DIMA. And during the process of gathering info about migrating to OZ these weren't the only examples!! Can anyone explain this???

Guest midanib Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 The new point system comes in July, some states such as SA have already ceased taking applications for SS.Lisa Thanks for that. Have checked out the new points system and all is well, but wondering when WA will halt SS applications?
Guest fearnie Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Hi, my skills assessment documents etc... were submitted 16 weeks ago and I am still waiting!! Good luck everyone.
Guest smogmonster Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Folks, the status check page is here...... http://applications.anmac.org.au/ They changed added the 'A' to the address, but forgot to tell anyone - i had 6 weeks of frustration before i tried adding the 'A'..and it worked! My modified assessment took 9 weeks to process
jenpen87 Posted May 30, 2011 Author Posted May 30, 2011 Now 14 weeks since all of my documents reached the ANMAC and my status changed to "supporting documentation received, assessing application". So sick of reading the same status!! At this rate I'll have to start the application for my 176 visa before getting my skills assessment back! Only 1 month until DIAC change the visa requirements!

jenpen87 Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 Can you apply for the 'big' visa without the skills assessment? I am very frustrated at all this waiting Hi there, you need a positive skills assessment for the visa to be approved. However, you can still lodge your application without it, and they'll only continue to process the application once all the supporting documentation has been received, i.e. the skills assessment. There's more info on the diac website. I agree, the ANMAC are taking the mick! If I can be of any more help, don't hesitate to ask!:cute:
Naomi from Manchester Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Hi everyone, We are hoping that someone can clarify whether or not my partner Alan is required to undergo a Migration Skills Assessment with ANMC. Our understanding is that the Letter Of Determination granted by ANMC following their Migration Skills Assessment is for the sole purpose of being included in the DIAC visa application. Since we already have our 175 visa, we are uncertain whether it remains necessary for Alan to undergo the Migration Skills Assessment. Alan is the secondary applicant on our 175 visa and it was therefore not necessary for his skills to be assessed for our visa application. (I am the primary applicant and my skills were assessed). Alan is still waiting for registration from AHPRA, which he applied for nine months ago. Once he has his AHPRA registration, is he able to work as a nurse in Oz without the ANMC Migration Skills Assessment? Thank you! (What a nightmare it all is!) Alan and Naomi
ali Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 If Alan isn't the primary applicant then he won't need his skills assessing just his registration with AHPRA (who will assess his suitability for registration). Being a nurse myself I've been through the process albeit a litle while ago. Being devils advocate I guess the thing to remember is that the ANMAC is the assessing body for all nurses and therefore will receive skills assessment documentation from around the globe and not just the UK. There are possible more applications being submitted now then ever before particularly with the prospect of rules changes being introduced, they also have to wait for the NMC to send documentation to verify your registration. I know the wait is frustrating - but you do get there in the end.
Naomi from Manchester Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Thanks Ali! Good to know ) I swing wildly from thinking 'arrrrgh we're gonna emigrate!' ) to 'arrrrrgh I can't believe we're ever gonna get there!' (

I know they are bad, but that must be a record!! Have they been in touch at all, and how is he staying sane?:err:. Good luck Gill x
Naomi from Manchester Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 I know! he applied to AHPRA and waited patiently, after 6 months they contacted to say his Uni needed to re-submit the document stating how many clinical hours he did when studying (as the Uni hadn't done it correctly the first time), and also to re-submit his certified copy of his passport and nursing diploma certificate. All his documents which required certification had been certified by a solicitor, but AHPRA said that these 2 needed to be certified by a notary public, which we hadn't realised (I don't know if we just missed this info on the website when he originally applied). They confirmed over the phone that once they had these 3 docuemnts everything would be fine. They then confirmed that they'd recieved them 1 month later (so 7 months after applying) and that his application would be assessed in chronological order. We don't know whether this means he's right back to the very start of the Q again. Now they just aren't responding to any emails. He's going to try phoning again on Monday. With regards to sanity - he's alright as he's a mental health nurse ) It's me who's going spare!
jenpen87 Posted June 8, 2011 Author Posted June 8, 2011 Has anyone heard from ANMAC yet who applied for full assessment in Feb/March, it'll be 16 weeks by the end of this week for me! No change on my satus either :frown:
Mummy Mann Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Has anyone heard from ANMAC yet who applied for full assessment in Feb/March, it'll be 16 weeks by the end of this week for me! No change on my satus either :frown: I applied 18th march. They did not receive my documents straightaway. I had to request them to be sent again. Once they had received them they immediately changed my status to 'approved' 2 weeks ago. So all together from filling out the online application to approved it took 9 weeks. I have phoned them a couple of times and sent them an e-mail. It may be worth you contacting them and saying you need your skills assessment before the points system changes in July. That's what I did and it seemed to speed things up very quick.

Yesterday was week 11 for me. I emailed them stating exactly that (please send me my result as 1st of July looming) and they just said it was waiting for a final look over. I emailed them two weeks ago. Very frustrating. Mind you no-one has been to view my house so don't know why I am getting worried, I will be stuck here until that is sold!
Guest robnnic Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 oh...i don't get it guys...i thought i had all this sorted in my head....can you register at AHPRA before getting your skills assessment????I thought i needed a positive skills assessment first?

However, if you are applying for a skilled migrant visa, you can register with AHPRA first then apply for a modified skills assessment which is a cheaper way to do it. Hope this helps :cute:

Mind you no-one has been to view my house so don't know why I am getting worried, I will be stuck here until that is sold! I feel like I've been emailing for weeks! I never get anywhere. I keep getting a reply from mark braybrook pretty much saying "you know that we'll contact you when it's done, stop wasting my time". It's been 16 weeks!! :twitcy: As for the 1st of July, you can lodge your visa application online without the skills assessment. You simply won't get your visa granted until you upload the skills assessment (when ANMAC pull their finger out their a@se). Wish full thinking:daydreaming:
bchickpea Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Im in the same boat, lodged my application weeks ago but it reverted to a previous version i had saved as a modified assessment and submitted that despite charging for a full assessment and me triple checking the webform before i pressed submit. They told me to ignore it and send the additional evidence with a covering letter - that was weeks ago. they've since asked me to get my employment statements certified which the web info never stated needed to be certified so i sent those. Then today the lovely mark emailed to say that my transcripts had been recieved from my uni and were insufficient. So ive now emailed the uni to ask for more detailed transcripts but the guy i need wont be back until monday and then itll be god knows how many weeks before they get to oz and god knows what else the anmac could find wrong with my application by then. Its so frustrating, ive given up chasing aphra for now - they were taking so long i gave up entirely with the idea of a modified assessment and just paid for the full and figure eventually hopefully ill end up with nurse registration! pah!
jenpen87 Posted June 11, 2011 Author Posted June 11, 2011 God it's a nightmare! They didn't bother telling me that they hadn't received my transcript, nor that my second one had got there. I can't believe they are increasing the assessment fees as well after the 1st of July in line with the change of visa requirements, how does that make it more expensive?! They're all a joke... cant you tell I'm not a huge fan. God help me when I apply to AHPRA!
