Guest Sirolo Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 I have just started casual teaching at a private school in Sydney. I get a day or twos teaching every week/or every two weeks. I started on 5th May, so my 6 month period for my VISA 417 will run out 5th November. Only thing is that they have offered me a block of teaching for term 4. Which would mean I would work up until 8th December (A further 5 weeks, after the 5th Nov) However, there are 5 weeks worth of school holidays between 5th May and 5th Nov. As I won't be paid for these holidays due to me being a casual teacher (and I suppose I'm not technically employed). Will I be ok to work these 5 weeks to see me upto the end of the term. I really hope so as a block of teaching doesn't come along easily! Hope someone can help! (I am also taking two weeks off now to do some travelling, which I have email proof of. So this is a further two weeks where I am technically not being employed by them):err:
