Mummy Mann Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Just to let you know I received an e-mail today from the ANMAC to say that they will continue to assess UK Diploma in Higher Education (nursing) as comparable to an Australian Degree after 30th June 2011. Gives peace of mind to all us Diploma Nurses!!!
angie&jay Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 May I ask, is this comparable only if you have a certain number of years experience, just trying to figure out where I will stand regarding being newly qualified (diploma) (will have approx 6 months experience by then) as am so confused right now, keep getting conflicting advice! Can I only go for Grad programmes? How realistic will it be to find a job position with under one yrs post reg exp? Or do I need yrs more? If so how many because again not even sure of that anymore!! Just need to know if I will be able to get a position on a 457 being diploma combined with still being a newbie?... As we have a good family network in NSW (Newcastle area) and they are eager for us to get out as soon as possible, have somewhere to stay, savings coming together, so all counts on me! Help! Many thanks in advance to anyone that can give me some direction Angie
Mummy Mann Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 Hi Just bumping this up. Would be worth giving the ANMAC an e-mail with your query. I am only familiar with the 175 visa but hopefully someone can answer your query Regards
Guest 3ofus Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 I'm in a similar situation to angie and jay. The AHPRA says diploma plus experience, but it does not say how much experience... I am due to get my diploma in august... how much experience do i need to apply or should i look at topping up to do a degree asap???
flipflop00 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Hi there, I qualified last year with a normal Diploma in nursing from the University of Brighton. It was a 3 year course. I have about 9 months experience. Can anyone please tell me if my Diploma is accepted by AHPRA please? Because when i check the 'Criteria three' on the AHPRA website is says degree only and it has me worried. Any help would be appreciated. THanks
