Computer shop like Maplins?

Hi,

I need to purchase a new mother board and hard drive cady/cable to get info off hard drive! Does anyone know where in Melbourne there is a shop like Maplins from the UK??

 

Were in Eastern suburbs but happy to go to the city if I need to!!

you could try jaycar electronics.

 

They have two shops in melbourne that i am aware of

 

one near central Melbourne train station.

and

one in Ringwood on the main road 5 min walk from the train station.

I will give you the address above, as this is the place where all laptops are sent to to be repaired across Melbourne when they have problems, and they are very helpful about where to get parts etc well priced - I bought an electrical cord from a retailer for double the price of what they sell them for. Even though they mostly do laptops they are a great source of information about what the retailers have or don't have. Hope this helps (if anyone out there is thinking of taking their laptops to a local computer repair place, I would say bypass them and take a run down to this place, as they will be sent there most likely anyway, and direct contact is cheaper !)
