Hi,

im a nurse and applying for stacks of jobs in perth and surrounding arreas (really love bunbury).............. anyhow ive done my ilets test because visa would be in my name.

ive been told that only i had to do it ......... am i right ?

Hi,

I am a nurse too. I am applying for the 175 PR visa. My husband does not need to do the IELTS but i have got a letter from his college to state his secondary education was taught in english.

Hi I am new to the forum! My husband and I have lodged our 176 visa. I am a teacher and I have did an IELTS but also told by my agent that only I have to do it. My husband just had to provide proof that all his schooling was in English.

well might be 175 visa but i keep hearing rumers that it can take upto 2 years to get it granted !

Its a shame because 175 really would suit us......... so might try and apply for a job in nursing then get sponsership .

The 175 does take approx 2 years from start to finish. I'm a midwife and yes I did the IELTS but my husband did not as the visa will be in my name. With regard to visa, it depends on how soon you want to go and how long you want to stay. Also if you go job sponsored you will generally be tied into that job for 2 years and normally full time, depends on your circumstances and needs.

 

Any ques just ask, we're planning on Brisbane, visa application is in but no Case officer yet.

Hi All,

hope you don't mind me barging in. I'm also a teacher and very much wanting to be in Oz NOW!! However, I don't anticipate being there forever. I really just want to go out an dlive and work in Australia for 2-3 years which would give me a break from here. If I get out there and really like it then I would apply for PR. What I want to ask is is it possible to get sponsorship on a 457 as a teacher? Or do I have to go through the 175? 2 years is a long time........

If you or your OH hold a UK (and a few other countries) passport you do not need to do the IELTS unless required by your occupation.
