Does anyone know if there is a Highway Code for Western Australia?

My daughter is heading for 17 and wants to start learning their rules and not bother with Britains.

Leaving aside the increased probablity of hitting a kanagaroo, driving in WA or anywhere else in Australia isn't really that much different from driving in the UK.

If you can't get hold of the Aussie version, the UK's highway code is an excellent source of 95% of the basic info needed for a learner to drive safely and be mindful of other road users.

The only real difference will be learning different speed limits, thinking in kph rather than mph and recognising the slightly different traffic light sequences...not that all Aussies take much notice of this and frequently treat red lights as more of a suggestion than a command!

Yes, the basics are all the same. There just seems to be a lack of respect and patience on the road compared to the UK, e.g. a lot wont think twice about undertaking you.

Other than that its just differant road signs really.

seems to be alot more of "wont think twice about anything" ............ ill be honest ...... they cant drive for toffee over here . ive seen better 5 year olds on the dodgems !! ...... keep you wits about you and always think ahead of what other drivers are thinking of doing ............. . good luck !!
