working East Fremantle, where to live?

I have been offered a job in East Fremantle as a nurse (Kaleeya hospital) and was wondering which areas we should be looking towards for living.

I was thinking that the southern suburbs would be best then there is no crossing through the main CBD area each day but how far south should we be looking, would Rockingham, Baldivis be too far. We would be looking to rent at first and don't want to overstretch ourselves too much with rental price, probably $450 per week max, and we would need 3 bedrooms.

Also how would be the best way to get to work, bearing in mind I am a nurse so will be doing shifts and hopefully would be missing the main rush hour traffic. Would it be possible to get the train and perhaps a bus to get to work at all or is it too far out of the way

Thanks

Rockingham and Baldivies are a bit of a trek distance wise but not time wise to East Freo (depending on time of day). I'There are close suburbs in Melville, Hamilton Hill, Kardinya, Murdoch, Leeming - depends how much of a commute you want.

so how long would you say ti would take to drive from Baldivis to East Freo at non rush hour?

Am i right in looking only to the southern or maybe Eastern suburbs and not northern?

Yes I would stick to the southern suburbs, depending on how long you are willing to spend commuting to work every day. I would also recommend Leeming and Murdoch as I grew up in those areas. Hamilton Hill and Spearwood are also fairly close to and easy to catch the bus in. As its East Fremantle you could also look into Palmyra, White Gum Vally, or even the centre of Fremantle (that way you could take the free cat bus). Fremantle is lovely, i'm looking to live there eventually.

If you're looking into public transport you could check out the time and route it would take you on the transperth.wa.gov.au website.
