Generally I am happy about her thought to solve this popular topic which has flooded media recently and Mr. Bowen can finally focus on finishing clearing the mess with backlog. Julia we love you! "Australian Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young pointed out that Malaysia was not a signatory to the UN Refugees Convention and asylum seekers taken there could be subjected to abuse. ''There have been deaths of people in incarceration, while health conditions, particularly for children and their families, are horrid,'' she said." I am totally against people smugglers, and amongst the the economic/non genuine cases, there are the genuine asylum seekers that should be treated according to the law. The above concerns me greatly! Joebloggs Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 ahh but.... Sarah Hanson forgot to highlight about the abuse of staff, emergency service personnel and property by asylum seekers. Not to mention the attempt to risk emergency services & DIAC staffs lives with home made improvised bomb at Villawood. POLICE have confirmed that a homemade bomb was found inside the troubled Villawood Detention Centre. The device, believed to have been made from a can of flyspray and canola cooking oil, was placed inside a computer room, more canola oil was spread across the floor before the building was set on fire. Staff from the centre extinguished the fire and called the police before the flames reached the bomb. The bomb sparked an on-air brawl between 2GB presenter Ray Hadley and Immigration Minister Chris Bowen, who revealed he was not aware a homemade bomb had been found, and said he would investigate reports. Mr Bowen and Hadley went head to head on the recent rioting and rooftop protests at Villawood, with Hadley accusing the Department of Immigration and Citizenship of being "as useless as an ashtray on a motorbike''. Now the above concerns me greatly Joe

Now the above concerns me greatly Joe No one cares about risk to emergency services or DIAC staff. There is plenty of them. You will find 10 misinformed liberals to protect every one non-genuine criminal refugee, did you not read the emtional children note? How could you! Anyway, I pointed this out to express good feeling from seeing Julia solving the problem at its source. I wish those liberals who protect these illegal jumping-the-queue imigrants will switch to protect the army of high-level Australian educated onshore and overseas qualified and experienced folks! I also believe media will not bring the boring topic of boat people any more!
