newjez Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Yes I used to. But I'm not celebrating today. No rain for 3 months - and then it pours down when the kids have a school parade. Typical.

Guest bindog1uk Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 We had really bad lightening here in Devon, one of the dogs was glued to my legs, she hates it, other one just slept through it, kept telling her that she will have to get used to it cos they have loads of thunder storms in QLD, bless her. Gardens do need some rain though!
newjez Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I used to drive to the coast in Perth and watch the lightning. Magic! Better up north though I've been told.

Where would I even start to answer that question, our dry spells (droughts) last years and years and years. We have been on 4 minute showers for the past few years, it is only now beginning to change so we are so glad to see rain across the country it almost defies words, especially for the farmers who have faced absolute ruin. Good that you are getting some rain too.

Yep. I have heard it can be years between rain in some partds of oz, and you watch over here people will be moaning that is raining when we desperatly need it.:wideeyed:
Guest The Ropey HOFF Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 It says theres going to be a massive storm today with thunder and lightening and a deluge at last, 3 days ago it said it was going to be nice this weekend, but thats the problem here in the uk, you can't plan anything 3 or 4 days in advance, it could be piddling it down and the nice-ish weather has been great, but its a rarity.
newjez Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 It didn't rain on our parade! Yeh! Quite warm and muggy at the moment in Sussex
Guest The Ropey HOFF Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Its been good for my lawn this bit of rain, i have weeded and feeded it and hopefully it will look good again soon, with the warm weather and no rain, i haven't had to cut it for nearly a month, looking a little brown though, long may the nice weather last, i hate cutting the lawn.
