"it's a public holiday in australia - relax"

Rubbish!

In which state is Queensbirthday on the 6th of June ?

In no state in Australia.

We are not New Zealand where they actually celebrate on the 6th.

Its celebrated on the 13th in every state/territory except WA where they celebrate it on the 28th of October.

I copied this from a oz guide.

Sorry if it's not come out very clear as I'm using my iPhone

Mandy, try Samsung or HTC and post just a link :)

I can see 6 June only in WA which has abosultely no effect on DIAC, as they are located in SA and QLD.

I'm stuck with an iPhone I'm afraid.

I was going to post the link but thought if I posted the dates everyone can see them clearly and help with public holiday confusion in Australia.

Just trying to be helpful x

I didn't know at the time of my first post that the public holiday was limited only to WA. I was however somewhat taken aback by being shouted down by certain other posters.

The time will go much quicker and more pleasantly if everyone is a bit nicer to each other.

I made that mistake a while ago thinking public holidays were across the board in OZ but each state varies. An easy mistake to make.

What is ur assumption for upcoming update ----------- Have DIAC completed assigning CO till July 2010 applicant ? What u think please share.

---------

The last 23rd May update is here

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/estimated-allocation-times.htm

based on how i would compute it, they should have allocated those until June 2010

or roughly 3 months worth.

5/02/2011 0 314 314

5/03/2011 0 24 24

1/04/2011 44 53 97

15/04/2011 91 36 127

6/05/2011 82 0 82

23/05/2011 84 15 99

This is my chart. Second column is 175/6, third is 885/6 Cat 3, last is combined days of shortening the queue.

Yes I agree 3 months a forthnigt, and the queue is currently about 14 months for 175 and 5 for 885. So this is 19 months divided by 3 months = about 6 forthnights.

So August 2011 Cat 3 should be done the latest.

Hi all not a regular poster on this site but a daily reader of the very usefull info that people post. I was wondering if there is anyone else outhere with WA SS that has lodged their visa prior to the above date and not heard anything?

Our 176 was lodged on 19th April 2011 we received acknowledgement 10th May and have heard nothing since. We are using an agent so unable to contact DIAC ourselves as the agents act on our behalf. I am getting really frustrated with it all as we have been waiting almost 2 years due to the changes that occured last year and i was really hoping to be out there by sep/oct this year as my eldest child starts high school.

Im not sure if im being hasty but i really thought due to current processing time we would have heard something by now. Sorry for rambling on but if there is anyone in the same situation it would be nice to hear from you !!!!!

Donna xx

sorry i dont know how to attach a timeline

Does anyone lodge GSM Cat 3 application within this year and has yet heard about their application?

According a friend of mine who lodge on February this year, he got his application finalize within a few months.

I lodged mine last month but never had confirmation for Cat 3 :arghh:

I contacted DIAC via online form, and i got reply like this

"I can however confirm that all necessary action has been taken with regards tot eh Direction 48 Priority Processing request received."

in which i don't really get it, can someone enlighten me to give peace in mind...?

I lodged mine March this year and I'm category 3 175.

I have no CO yet.

Your friend might have been category 2 and did not know it I think.:GEEK:
