Hi guys,

there should have been an update on Friday on processing times (you get it by sending empty email to 'aspc.processing@immi.gov.au')

However, there was no change and the system returns only information as of 15 April. The email reply is unusually lenghty.

Anyone as new info about this?

Cheers

Well, for the starters, a lot of Australians took the major part of the last two weeks off. Hence, there isn't any new update.

armandra!

Unlike UK, Australians want to take more holidays. If one public holiday fall on another public holiday, they take two days off. This is what the Australian system works.

Give them a break. I'm sure things will start moving again after the apr/may holidays and the weather cools down ..

They have been given enough breaks. No more giving them no breaks.

What May holidays are you talking about? :chatterbox:

As far as I know, before next Xmas they're gonna have only Queen's birthday off (mid-June). This passing week was loaded with holidays (Easter ...days, ANZAC day, Royal Wedding and stuff), so most places took the whole week off.

Looking fwd to Monday now, for the update.

I found out, someone mentioned it here (I wish I could give credit to him/her, just can't find it) and the thing is that there is Labour Day in Brisbane, so maybe that is why the delay.

Labour day is today!! Its only a public holiday in Queensland and NT though, It varies between states though so I wouldn't think it would slow anything down,

So any other explanation why there was no update on processing times? I am getting cranky!

Isn't that an irony to celebrate Labour Day by a day off anyway? :)

Ha Ha, It is a bit, especially when the parade meets outside your house so you get woken up early on your day off by screaming and bagpipes!! lol,

Is this what is happening in Queensland?

I remember this from the good old communist times back from Europe. Are you talking about Queensland?

They were having a survey monkey survey for the auto reply email service - which is now complete. I received automatic one 24 hours ago, dated 15th apr (latest)

Tried another one today, didn't get one.

I have been trying doind this in 4h increments from Thursday midnight

the only difference was:

1. emails took about 4-6 hourse to receive

2. first change was today Monday about noon Sydney time and it was the change of email format to HTML (or just font adjustment)

all dated 15 April

They are not updating the email, it doesnt mean their planning limit has been reached.

I think its quite the opposite judging from DIAC march 18 email.

This is an automated e-mail response which provides updated information on processing of applications for General Skilled Migration (GSM). This information is updated fortnightly.

Processing Times

Estimated processing times for GSM visa applications can be found on our website at: http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/8.0.htm

Estimates of processing times that apply to different types of applications are provided as a guide only. As processing times are dependent on a range of factors, individual processing times may vary considerably from the published estimates. Factors that can impact on processing times include, but are not limited to:

- completeness of application

- how quickly applicants respond to requests to provide documentation

- medical complications

- police checks

- checks with third parties to verify claims made in an application.

Providing additional documents

Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit supporting documentation electronically. Providing scanned copies of documents reduces postal and administrative delays in receiving and processing information.

GSM processing offices accept scanned copies of original documents (non-certified) provided they are in colour. If you scan documents in black and white, then they must be scanned copies of certified copies. The valid file types for attaching documents are BMP, DOC, DOT, GIF, JPG, PDF, RTF, TXT and XLS.

Information which will assist you in attaching documents to your application or in emailing them to the department is available on the department’s website at: http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/general-skilled-migration-attachments.htm

Online applications

If you e-lodged this application you are strongly encouraged to attach all the supporting documentation to the application in the web-browser. This is the preferred procedure for providing supporting documents for an e-lodged application.

If for any reason you cannot attach documents in the browser then you can email the documents as scanned attachments to the following email address:

gsm.documents@immi.gov.au

Paper lodged applications

If you lodged a paper application you can still provide supporting documentation electronically by emailing the documents as scanned attachments to:

gsm.documents@immi.gov.au

When emailing documents to the department please quote your Transaction Reference Number (TRN) or file reference number for this purpose.

Do not send this office any original documents or provide paper copies of documents previously attached to the browser or sent by e-mail unless asked to do so by a departmental officer.

Medical Results

If you have undertaken your medical examination with Medibank Health Solutions (formerly Health Services Australia), please do not post your medical results to us unless your case officer requests you to do so. Please store your results in a secure place and do not open the sealed envelope.
