Guest tasha82
Hey everyone, I have a quick question. I applied for my partner visa onshore in Melbourne a few weeks ago and tonight I have found a note saying I have a registered letter waiting to be picked up. Do you think this could be the letter??? Or could it just be them requesting further info?? Im trying not to get excited but I cant think of anything else that it would be. Nobody really has my address apart from the immigration people!! When I applied in person I got given an acknowlodgement letter so what else would it be?! ahhhhh, I cant wait 12 hours to find out!!!!! :chatterbox:

Fingers crossed for you Tasha.... on a more cynical note:laugh: I would have thought DIAC would only stretch to sending a registered letter if they were asking you to leave the country:biggrin:. emmaroo
It depends on how you said you wanted to be notified on your application. If you said by letter then it could be but if chose by email then you will get an email and it will be put on your passport electronicaly! Good Luck Emma

Just out of interest for the rest of us mere mortals still waiting, any out of the ordinary stuff that might have swayed the processing time? kid on the way? agent? Thank you  Nothing out of the ordinary, no agent, no child, no kid on the way, no nothing!! What I did do was supply everything they could possibly ask for in a folder with labels. I'm just guessing that as it was such a straight forward application they were able to process it quicker. I am shocked though as I assumed that they looked at applications on first come first served so thought mine would be at back......

The fact you got yours straightaway after it being assessed would seem to imply they're easing up on the artificial 6month rule they brought in late last year. Hopefully. RockDr
I have my fingers crossed for you :spinny: Thanks, I'm just hoping I'll get mine before July, or I'll have to do my police checks again... just wishful thinking really, but would be nice... Not that it really matters, since the 2yrs for second stage is based on application date not grant date.

I really dont understand how the lengths of wait can vary so much!
